An ethical take on research and innovation
The role of responsible research and innovation (RRI) as conceived by the EU is instrumental in designing and promoting sustainable research and innovation practices. The EU-funded ETHNA System project intends to develop and apply an ethics governance system for the use of RRI in higher education, funding and research centres (HEFRCs). The system is composed of an Ethna office and four tools and work methodologies for RRI. Its aim is to propose institutional interventions to address the ethical challenges HEFRCs are facing during their research and innovation activities. The purpose is to ensure and develop sustainable funding with a maximised impact in the five years following the completion of the project based on the engagement with citizens and society.
